This year has brought dramatic changes to The Luminary - a new space, new design and thousands of new visitors. We have welcomed many of you for the first time to our exhibitions and events and have seen many familiar faces no longer just volunteering at work days, but experiencing a concert, film screening or workshop in a space you helped build. The new Luminary is here and now we are happy to reflect on the vibrancy of the actions, not just the ideas.

We started our season with a packed celebration at the Grand Opening and followed it with a stunning first exhibition and a near sold-out concert in our first few weeks. The residency program continued to bring some of the most engaging contemporary artists from around the world to St. Louis to make new work and create connections. One of our public commissions landed on the cover of Art in America and we've launched exciting initiatives like FLOAT, an experimental off-site residency and LAB, a commissioned art & music series.

We have been doing groundbreaking work in the St. Louis area since 2007, bringing more than 100 artists from around the world to the city for artist residencies, putting on public programs that reach more than 10,000 people annually and promoting art writing and criticism that sees a readership of over 100,000 per year. Groundbreaking work needs visionary support.
