Concept/Focus is a triennial exhibition presented in partnership with the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition that presents an expansive investigation of contemporary art in the Midwest featuring new work from four St. Louis artists and four Oklahoma artists.

To know - Focus and to not know - Concept, and so on to trade and combine we get, Concept/Focus.

 

Curated by Adam Welch, Exhibitions Manager at The Mattress Factory and former curator at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, the exhibition features work across all media from artists selected from a competitive call and active series of studio visits. Participating artists include Addoley Dzegede, Meredith Foster, Cole Lu, and Catalina Ouyang from St. Louis and Glenn Herbert Davis, Heather Clark Hilliard, Andy Mattern, and Anh-Thuy Nguyen from Oklahoma.

The Luminary's exhibitions are supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Regional Arts Commission, Missouri Arts Council - a state agency, and our members. Additional support for this exhibition comes from the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC).
