The PSA Banners Project returns to The Luminary with its newest commission by Tasha Nicolé Burton.
The Luminary is pleased to present its newest commission in partnership PSA:STL for the Banners Project
The six banner piece by Tasha Nicolé Burton - titled “Today, you meet yourself” - was installed on the exterior wall of The Luminary at Cherokee and Ohio on October 20, 2024. The installation will be displayed for 20 weeks and was made possible, in part, by funding from the Missouri Arts Council and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
The artist’s statement about the works is as follows:
When we doubt our own thoughts and feelings, this can be an act of deviance that can create feelings of sadness, rejection, and lack of self-trust. Self-trust is an ever-evolving journey that requires repetition and practice. This can be achieved through resilience and forgiveness.
