With his deep commitment to the arts and a diverse background in leadership, Kentaro will play a key role in advancing The Luminary’s mission and ensuring the continued success of its programs and community initiatives.

Kentaro Kumanomido is an interdisciplinary artist and cultural producer based in St. Louis. He brings over seven years of experience in organizational leadership, financial management, and community engagement. As Co-founder of Wildfruit Projects, an artist-run project in Dutchtown, St. Louis, Kentaro has created vital spaces for artists of color and LGBTQIA+ artists, contributing greatly to the cultural landscape of St. Louis. In his new role, Kentaro will collaborate closely with Artistic/Executive Director Kalaija Mallery to oversee key aspects of The Luminary’s operations, including grant development, financial management, and public programming. He will also help expand our reach within the community, ensuring that our exhibitions and initiatives remain inclusive and accessible for all audiences.

We look forward to the exciting contributions Kentaro will bring to The Luminary as we continue to support the development of contemporary art, foster meaningful connections, and engage with diverse communities. Please join us in welcoming Kentaro to his new role!
