KNOW/HOW Book Sale at Tschüss

September 3, 2026, 5–8 PM
Tschüss, 2712 Cherokee Street
Free and open to the public

This First Thursday, KNOW/HOW is heading down the street to Tschüss for an evening book sale featuring ART • POETRY • FICTION • THEORY • DISSENT, with books and publications up to 50% off.

Founded inside The Luminary five years ago, KNOW/HOW began as a bookshop and communal publication studio dedicated to artist books, independent publishing, critical writing, and the printed matter that helps ideas circulate. Over the years, the project has taken a few different forms, from sharing space with Black Coffee to the launch of INDEX, our former storefront for books, objects, and artist editions.

As The Luminary continues to evolve, we’re bringing the bookshop back into the gallery with a more focused purpose: to promote and protect reading.

To mark the return, we’re clearing some shelves.

Join us at Tschüss on Thursday, September 3 from 5–8 PM to browse books, have a drink, and spend First Thursday on Cherokee Street. Many titles will be discounted up to 50%, with all sales supporting The Luminary and our continued investment in small presses and independent publishing.

Can’t make it Thursday? KNOW/HOW will continue to be open during regular gallery hours at The Luminary:

Thursday: 5–8 PM
Friday: 12–6 PM
Saturday: 12–4 PM

Shop local. Read widely. Support independent publishing.
