For Alice Longyu Gao, remaining indefinable has proven to be one of their most formidable strengths. As one of the pioneers of the hyperpop movement, Longyu Gao — forged a path for themselves by channeling unfiltered humor and rage into their energetic work. Alice strives to open portals to their past, present and future through their work, a nonlinear journey reflected upon their debut trilogy, consisting of EP 1: High Dragon And Universe, EP 2: Let’s Hope Heteros Fail, Learn, and Retire, and EP 3: Assembling symbols into my own poetry.
Released October 23rd 2024 via ÂŁÏÇÉ THE ŁÄBĘŁ, Assembling Symbols Into My Own Poetry takes the words that they’ve spent their entire career scrutinizing and throws them skyward, allowing vulnerability to take control. It’s the sound of a cup that has simply floweth over, it’s the sound of an artist who’s ready to lay it all bare in the name of love. “These songs were made when my life felt alive again. This music talks to my romantic soul, the fountain in my heart, which is where my art has come from since birth,” Longyu Gao say of the project. Much like the fountain from which it came, Assembling offers space for reflection — demolishing childhood trauma on “Little Piggy” or reaching anthemic epiphany on the Danny Brown collaboration “Bird W/O Nest” — and out flows a pure expression of the messy multi-facet that make up the human experience.
Tommy Fleece delivers high-energy electronic performances that fuse the grit of Detroit’s underground scene with the chaos of internet-fueled electro-pop. Raised in Michigan and influenced by the city’s techno legacy, he blends progressive pop production with analog synth-driven club sounds, creating a distinct, unpredictable style. His latest project, Audio Stars 2, captures this balance, pushing the boundaries of pop music while keeping his raw, experimental edge. His growing fanbase isn’t just listening—they’re fully engaged, drawn to his mix of infectious melodies, brash production, and absurdist humor.
On stage, Tommy’s performances are immersive and built for a crowd that thrives on energy. He’s played DIY house shows at Scissor House in Austin during SXSW week with Reserv, The Dallas Cowboys, and Push Ups, performed in New York City alongside The Dallas Cowboys, and opened for Snow Strippers in Detroit, where he’s also sold out his own headlining shows. As he continues to expand his reach, Tommy and his bandmate (Anthony Cronk from Roseville Sucks) remain focused on crafting dynamic live experiences that connect with audiences in a genuine and unpredictable way.
