The Luminary is pleased to announce the return of LOT 49, a contemporary art auction and fundraiser on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
LOT 49 is an annual benefit for The Luminary, one of the leading arts organizations in the region that connects with over 50,000 people each year as part of our ambitious and far-reaching programs. The benefit has been on pause for the last three years due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, wherein we redirected our fundraising efforts towards direct support of artists impacted by loss of work, studio space, and other grants and earned income. In light of this challenging time, we have received inquiries from artists and community members who miss Lot 49 and want it to return, so we are excited to bring it back in 2022.
LOT 49 is a unique artist-centric auction initiated not only as an annual benefit for The Luminary, but also a direct means of support for artists in the region. The interactive auction and must-attend party will feature acclaimed artists nominated by their peers, with a sought-after attendee list consisting of civic and cultural leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners and creatives ideal for savvy sponsors.
This year, The Luminary is thrilled to honor St. Louis-raised artist Adrian Octavius Walker for his career accomplishments and contributions to the St. Louis arts community.
A VIP Cocktail Reception + Auction Preview will kick off the event from 7 to 8pm featuring complimentary cocktails provided by new bar concept Communion, creative appetizers provided by Confluence Kombucha, and a first chance to purchase items in the auction. The VIP Cocktail Reception will also be a great moment to connect with the contributing artists! The public event follows from 8 to 10pm with the most exciting contemporary art party of the season featuring music, interactive bidding, cocktails and more.
Reserve your VIP ticket for one of the region’s most anticipated annual arts events, fostering innovation and collaboration within the arts community and connecting artists with thoughtful supporters.
