The Luminary Awarded Grant from Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts
7.11.23
The grant will fund exhibitions, residencies, and public programming over the next two years.
The Luminary is proud to announce that we are among 49 arts organizations and institutions awarded a Multi-year Program Support grant by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
This cycle of funding from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts will support three critical facets of The Luminary: exhibitions, the residency program, and public programming and community engagement.
With funding from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, The Luminary will produce exhibitions and related programs that feature emerging and established artists, performers, and critics. Our residency program will continue to blossom, drawing creators from across the world to engage in research and praxis in St. Louis. Funds for programs and community outreach will create a secure base for incubating new projects while maintaining current programs and resources, including our professional development series for artists, the arts advisory board, and community partnerships.
In accordance with Andy Warhol’s will, the mission of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts is the advancement of the visual arts. The foundation manages a dynamic grants program while also preserving Warhol’s legacy through creative and responsible licensing policies and extensive scholarly research for ongoing catalogue raisonné projects. To date, the foundation has given $280 million in cash grants to over 1,000 arts organizations in 49 states and abroad and has donated 52,786 works of art to 322 institutions worldwide.
