Join The Luminary's Artist Advisory Board

Applications for the Artist Advisory Board are now open!

8.8.2022

The Luminary invites community stakeholders of all disciplines to shape the present and help build the future of the organization as members of the renewed Artist Advisory Board. Those who hold seats on the Artist Advisory board work collectively to provide feedback on the organization, its structures, and impact within the interrelated arts communities of the region.

The Luminary welcomes applications for the Artist Advisory board, effective October 2022. The board represents the expansive and diverse St. Louis arts ecosystem, provides insight and offers feedback to the organization on its past programs and output, and shapes the institution through their connection with artists within the region.

As a member of the Advisory Board, you will:

  • Attend 6 annual meetings held in person/on zoom

  • Hold a rotating position within the board (ie. secretary, treasurer, chair, vice chair, etc.)

  • Provide honest reflection upon The Luminary’s existing programs, structure, and exhibitions, identifying key areas of improvement and noting areas of strength

  • Advise and assess the 2023 programmatic proposals from individual artists and small business entities biannually

  • Have the opportunity to produce programming collaboratively as a group

  • Help identify the past, shape the present, and build the future of The Luminary, together

There is no fee to retain your seat on the board. Applicants are not required to be visual artists, but must have a strong tie to artists in the region. To apply, please follow the form here and submit by September 1, 2022. Applications will be reviewed by The Luminary’s staff, and all will be notified by September 15, 2022. The first board meeting will be held in October.
