Join us at The Luminary for the opening reception of Signal Interludes, a solo exhibition by Peruvian artist Ximena Garrido-Lecca, curated by Stefanie Hessler and presented in collaboration with Counterpublic.

Signal Interludes brings together Garrido-Lecca’s ongoing investigations into extraction, infrastructure, communication, and the relationship between technological systems and the land. Moving between sculpture, installation, and material research, the exhibition considers how networks of transmission are built, what they make visible, and the histories and resources that remain embedded within them.

Garrido-Lecca’s practice frequently traces the material conditions behind systems that can otherwise appear immaterial or distant, from mineral extraction and industrial development to communications technologies and electrical infrastructure. In Signal Interludes, these concerns unfold through works that connect histories of resource extraction in Peru with broader questions of connectivity, circulation, and power.

The exhibition continues The Luminary’s 2026 curatorial season, ECHOS / ECOS, which considers how histories reverberate through landscapes, infrastructures, and collective life. Signal Interludes asks us to attend to the physical and political structures beneath contemporary systems of communication, and to what might become perceptible when we listen for signals beyond their intended transmission.

The opening reception is an opportunity to experience the exhibition for the first time and gather with artists, collaborators, and community at The Luminary.
